This policy governs the manner in which the CapitolRiver Council (CRC) collects, uses, and maintains information that is collected from people who visit this website and who engage in our work by attending meetings or events (which may be in-person or via videoconference). By using this website, and by attending our meetings or events, you indicate your acceptance of this policy.
Personal Identification Information
We collect personal identification information, including name, email address, mailing address, and phone number, so that we can identify the number of stakeholders that comprise our neighborhood organization, and so that we can identify areas within the neighborhood that are under-represented (for example, if no residents or workers from certain buildings are engaged in our work). People may visit our website anonymously, and people may attend meetings or events without providing any personal information.
Non-personal Identification Information
We may collect non-personal identification information from website visitors. Non-personal identification information may include web browser (for example, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari or Google Chrome), Internet service provider, type of computer, pages visited, search terms, and other similar info.
Web Browser Cookies
A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer or mobile device. It may contain certain data, including, but not limited to: the name of the server that has placed it there, an identifier in the form of a unique number, and, an expiration date (some cookies only). Cookies are managed by the web browser on your computer.
How We Use Collected Information
CRC uses personal information for the following purposes:
• To determine the number of community members that comprise our organization, and where they live, work and / or own property (therefore we ask people who attend meetings and events to provide their address).
• To send periodic emails (if someone decides to opt out of our mailing list, they may do so at any time).
• We request ideas for our work through Google forms, so that all stakeholders are able to help us set agendas for community engagement and advocacy.
How We Protect Your Information
CRC does not sell or give away personal identification information. We share names and contact information among people who choose to disclose it, for example, to enable board members or committee members to contact each other.
