Upcoming Overnight Construction Work

The construction work will begin on Cedar Street from 7th Street and move down the light rail line into the block of 5th/Cedar Street and 4th/Minnesota Street.  The overnight work will begin at 10:00 p.m. and go through the night until 7:00am each day (Monday PM through Saturday AM) and will generally follow the schedule below:

  • June 24-June 25 – Cedar Street-7th Street to 6th Street
  • June 25-June 27 – Cedar Street -6th Street to 5th Street
  • June 26-June 28 – Cedar Street -6th Street to 5th Street and the block of 5th and Cedar and 4th and Minnesota

The overnight construction activities will include work to hang the overhead catenary wires.  Construction vehicles will have an audible “beep” for when vehicles back up; this beeping must remain on for safety regulations.  Additional lighting is added to the work zone to assist in a safe and efficient environment.   There will be no sidewalk, lane or intersection closures during this work.  This overnight work does not include work on 4th Street.  Please contact Dana Happel with any questions:
